Marta Zaninello obtained her PhD in Neurobiology from the University of Padova in 2014, in the group of Prof. Luca Scorrano, where she studied mitochondrial trafficking and clearance in a mouse model of dominant optic atrophy. She is currently a Postdoctoral Researcher of the group of Prof. Elena Rugarli at the University of Cologne/Cologne Excellence Cluster on Cellular Stress Responses in Aging-Associated Diseases (CECAD) in Germany. Her research is focused on mitochondrial function in axonal maintenance, with a focus on nuclear encoded mitochondrial mRNAs.
