Linfang Wang is pursuing her PhD degree in the School of Life Science and Technology at ShanghaiTech University. She obtained her master's degree from the School of Medicine, Jiangnan University, and then worked as a Research Assistant at Tongji University for 2 years. Her research focuses on neurodegenerative disease. During her master's degree, she explored the mechanism of neuron regeneration in spinal cord-injured zebrafish and found that neuropeptide Y and Activating Transcription Factor 3 are essential for the recovery of zebrafish motor function. Then, she worked on the mechanism of glial cells in modulating Parkinson’s Disease (PD) using Drosophila and mouse models. During her PhD, she found leucine-rich repeat kinase 2 (LRRK2) and Cyclin-G-Associated kinase/dAuxilin as crucial regulators of the glial auto-lysosome pathway underlying PD progression.
