Dr. Sofiene Abdellaoui received his master’s degree in Structural and Functional Biochemistry from Université Claude Bernard, Lyon (France) in 2010. He completed his PhD on “Dehydrogenases and laccases on the redox surfaces: toward applications in bioelectronic” at the Institute of Molecular and Supramolecular Chemistry of Lyon (France) in 2013. After a year as teaching and research assistant in the field in bioelectrochemistry, Sofiene joined Prof. Shelley Minteer's research group in the Department of Chemistry at the University of Utah, Salt Lake City (USA) in 2014. Until 2018, his research in Minteer’s lab focused on the study of redox enzymes and their application on biolelectrochemical interfaces. Since 2018, Dr. Abdellaoui is assistant professor at the FARE laboratory (Fractionation of AgroRessources and Environment) of Reims (France). His current research focuses on the development of processes combining redox biocatalysis and electrocatalysis applied to the valorization of plant biomass.
