Dr. Ashima Chopra (she/her) graduated with a PhD in 2022 from the lab of Eddy Arnold at Rutgers University. During her PhD, she worked on using X-ray crystallographic fragment screening methods to discover hits against drug targets of viral importance. Prior to that, she completed her BS and MS in Chemistry from India, and moved to the US to learn about biological methods of drug discovery. Ashima is currently a postdoctoral scholar in the lab of Stephen Fesik at Vanderbilt University. She is expanding her expertise in fragment screening methods by researching NMR-based fragment screening, in addition to continuing her work on X-ray crystallographic characterization of inhibitors against difficult cancer-based and viral drug targets.
