Dr. Vitaly Citovsky, Ph.D., is a Distinguished Professor at the Department of Biochemistry and Cell Biology, State University of New York at Stony Brook. Dr. Citovsky’s research focuses on three areas of plant biology: intercellular transport of plant viruses, plant genetic transformation by Agrobacterium, and plant chromatin remodelling. The first two utilize pathogens-pirates of the host cellular pathways—as molecular tools to study fundamental biological questions, and the third examines the control of plant genes by histone modifications. Dr. Citovsky is a Fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science (AAAS), a Member of the American Academy of Microbiology and the National Academy of Inventors, and a Member of the Faculty 1000 Biology. Dr. Citovsky published over 200 articles and he serves on the Editorial Boards of numerous professional journals
