Dr. Iffland is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Neurology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine. His lab is interested in the disease mechanisms underlying malformations of cortical development including Tuberous Sclerosis Complex, focal cortical dysplasia, and hemimegalencephaly. In particular, they are interested in genetic mutations within the mTOR pathway that result in cortical malformations and epilepsy.
