Dr. Yang received her Ph.D degree from Wuhan University, during which she also had the opportunity to undergo joint training at the Institute of Biophysics of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Since 2016, she has been a lecturer at Beijing University of Chinese Medicine. Her current research mainly focuses on the pathogenic mechanisms of respiratory viruses such as influenza virus and coronavirus, as well as the role of traditional Chinese medicine in their prevention and treatment. Dr. Yang has chaired and participated in a number of scientific research projects of various levels, and published research papers in journals such as Nature Communications, Acta Pharmaceutica Sinica B, Journal of General Virology, and Viruses, either as the first author or co-first author.
