Dr. Mei-Chun Cheng received her BS in Life Sciences and her MS and PhD in Plant Biology from National Taiwan University. As a graduate student in Dr. Tsan-Piao Lin’s lab, she worked on characterizing the regulation and degradation of ERF transcription factors in Arabidopsis. She did her post-doctoral research with Dr. Enamul Huq at UT Austin, where she studied the molecular basis of light responses and the light-mediated translational regulation in plants. Dr. Cheng is now an Assistant Professor at the Department of Biochemical Science and Technology at National Taiwan University. The Cheng lab is interested in studying light-stress signaling crosstalk. Their main goal is to understand how plants cope with stresses and find a balance between growth and defense.
