Dr. Meng Dong is a biomedical scientist with expertise in cancer research, specializing in the development and application of ex vivo tumor models to better understand the tumor microenvironment and evaluate novel therapeutic strategies. She obtained her M.Sc. in Molecular Bioengineering from the Dresden University of Technology and her Ph.D. from Saarland University in collaboration with the Dr. Margarete Fischer-Bosch Institute of Clinical Pharmacology and University of Tübingen Germany. With over 10 years of experience developing ex vivo tumor models, she has developed several models for drug treatment in cancer therapy, particularly using precision-cut tumor slices as preclinical models for personalized medicine. Dr. Meng Dong’s work focuses on using ex vivo systems to study tumor biology, therapeutic responses, and the interaction between cancer cells and their microenvironment. She is the principal investigator of multiple projects aimed at translating laboratory findings into clinical applications.
