Dr. A. Jafar Ahamed, Associate Professor of Chemistry, PG and Research Department of Chemistry, Jamal Mohamed College, Bharathidasan University, Tiruchirappalli, India is an active researcher with 26 years of teaching experience. He is specialized in synthetic organic chemistry, environmental chemistry and nano-chemistry. He has successfully guided 20 PhD students and 48 MPhil students in the frontier fields of chemistry. Has published 122 papers in most reputed national and international Journals, presented papers in more than 120 conferences, acted as a Resource person in many conferences. Has got a PATENT for method variation of ZnO nano material synthesis. Many of his works on metal oxide nano particles synthesis, characterization and applications has been cited by many authors. Has written two Book Chapters published by Springer, Netherlands has authored three books in chemistry. Editorial Member of Journal of Environmental Nano Technology; Geology, ecology and landscapes of Taylor & Francis and Chemical Science Transactions. Reviewer for many journals of Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis and many national journals. Life Member of American Chemical Society; Indian Council of Chemists; Association of Chemistry Teachers; Niamath Science Academy; Society for Materials Chemistry; and Indian Society of Systems for Science & Engineering. He has received several awards including the National Level Bhupendra Sahai Best PG Chemistry Teacher Award through the Association of Chemistry Teachers. Has visited Thailand, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Mauritius, Indonesia, France and Belgium for presenting his work in international conferences.
