Michelle Yap is currently a senior lecturer and course coordinator at Monash University Malaysia. She received her PhD in Molecular Medicine – specialization in toxicology and pharmacology. She is dedicated to toxin pharmacology research with background in proteomics, molecular pharmacology, immunology and biomolecular modelling of toxins. She leads Toxin Pharmacology Research Group; her research group now investigates the molecular mechanisms of venom toxins with the ultimate goal of developing next-generation biotherapeutics. Much of the group research focuses on multifaceted approaches in molecular pharmacology of venoms. Her research has also been progressively engaged in translational research, resulting in the intellectual properties produced.
