Dr. Yi Ban is currently an assistant research professor at NYU Langone Health's Laura and Isaac Perlmutter Cancer Center, specializing in cancer immunology. She earned her PhD from Rutgers University and completed advanced postdoctoral training at Weill Cornell Medicine. Her extensive background spans pharmaceutical science and molecular and cellular pharmacology. She studies the dynamics of the lung tumor microenvironment, exploring how T cells' immune responses and metabolic reprogramming are influenced by factors such as aging and senescence-associated lipids.
Dr. Ban has contributed significantly to understanding immune checkpoint inhibitors in lung cancer, the regulatory mechanisms of immune cells in cancer, and the processes underlying cancer cell chemoresistance and metastasis. Her work is published in respected journals such as Nature Cancer and Cancer Research, and she continues to explore the interplay between aging and tumor microenvironments in her current research endeavors.
