Dr. Chitral Chatterjee is pursuing her post-doctoral studies in Professor Grant Jensen’s lab at Brigham Young University, Utah (USA). She completed her doctoral studies at the Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur (India) in 2024. Dr. Chatterjee holds expertise in microbiology, molecular biology, and biochemistry and is learning cutting-edge techniques in cryo-electron tomography from one of the pioneers in the field. She has an Indian patent to her credit and has published in well-reputed peer-reviewed journals. Dr. Chatterjee is experienced in working on stress response systems of model eukaryotic and prokaryotic organisms. Her doctoral research led to a promising platform for the development of anti-mutagenic, anti-bacterial inhibitors; which can revolutionize the approach to combating multidrug-resistant tuberculosis and other bacterial infections. Dr. Chatterjee aims to continue contributing meaningfully to the field of stress biology, disease biology, and anti-microbial resistance (AMR) research.
