Affiliation: The First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University

Dr. Hongtao Tie is currently a thoracic surgeon at the First Affiliated Hospital of Chongqing Medical University. He completed his Doctor of Medicine at Universitätsklinikum Münster, University of Münster. Dr. Tie received the 2021 China Outstanding Self-funded International Student Award and the 2024 Oriental Rising Star Award from the Asian Society of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery.

In recent years, his research has focused on the molecular mechanisms of organ ischemia/reperfusion injury and the clinical aspects of thoracic diseases. As the first or corresponding author, he has published over 30 papers in prominent journals, including the Journal of Heart and Lung Transplantation, Circulation: Heart Failure, Critical Care, and the European Journal of Cardio-Thoracic Surgery.

Additionally, Dr. Tie is a young editorial board member of the Chinese Clinical Journal of Thoracic and Cardiovascular Surgery, an editorial board member of BMC Cardiovascular Disorders, and a young editorial board member of Cardiovascular Innovations and Applications.
