Dr. Jia Cui earned her PhD from Shanxi University, China, in 2020 under the supervision of Professor Changxin Wu, a tuberculosis (TB) researcher with 15 years of experience at the University of Cambridge. She is currently an associate professor and master’s supervisor at Changzhi Medical College in China.

Her doctoral research focused on human susceptibility to TB and disease pathophysiology using the Mycobacterium marinum–zebrafish model. Her current work centers on the pathogenicity of Mycobacterium tuberculosis (Mtb) and the mechanisms of TB pathogenesis, with a particular emphasis on Mtb–host immune system interactions. Building on these insights, she is also engaged in the development of novel anti-tuberculosis therapies.
