Dr. Julia Zinsmeister is an associate professor at AgroParisTech in Paris, France, and a researcher at the INRAE Institut Jean-Pierre Bourgin for Plant Sciences. She earned an engineering degree and a PhD in biology and agronomy from Institut Agro Angers, France. Her research focuses on the molecular basis of seed physiological quality, combining omics and physiological approaches to investigate the regulatory mechanisms that enable seeds to be stored, break dormancy, germinate, and develop into healthy seedlings.
Dr. Zinsmeister has held various postdoctoral and research positions at academic institutions and in the private sector. She was a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Fellow at the Polish Academy of Sciences and a Severo Ochoa Fellow at CRAG in Barcelona. She has also been a guest researcher at Wageningen University & Research and at IBMP–CNRS in France. Earlier in her career, she worked at Enza Zaden as a seed physiology researcher, developing new priming protocols for vegetable seeds.
