Dr. Lorenzo Sempere is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Radiology and a Faculty member of the Campus-wide Precision Health Program at Michigan State University. Dr. Sempere is originally from Elche, a sunny city in southeastern Spain. He earned his BS in Biochemistry from Universidad Miguel Hernández and a PhD from Dartmouth Geisel School of Medicine. Dr. Sempere initiated his translational breast cancer research as a Susan G. Komen for the Cure postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Sempere has experience and expertise as author, reviewer, and journal editor in diverse areas of breast cancer research, including tissue slide-based diagnostic applications, noncoding RNA biology, functional analyses in genetically engineered mouse models, and intraductal approaches for imaging and primary prevention in animal models.
