Dr. Mauricio Dourado holds a PhD in Oral Pathology (University of Campinas, Brazil) and a PhD in Oral Health Sciences (University of Oulu, Finland). Currently, Dr. Dourado is a Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Campinas, where his research is focused on basic cancer research and translational research, working on the discovery of potential prognostic biomarkers for oral carcinomas. His doctoral studies were based on the understanding of the communication between tumor cells and cancer-associated fibroblasts through extracellular vesicles. Dr. Dourado does research in oral cancer, oral pathology, and cancer biomarkers.
