Dr. Dmytro Dziuba is a researcher at the University of Strasbourg and the National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS) in France. He studied chemistry at the Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv (Ukraine) and later earned his PhD from the Université Côte d’Azur (France).
Dr. Dziuba completed his first postdoctoral training with Prof. Michal Hocek at the Institute of Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry in Prague (Czech Republic), where he specialized in developing fluorescence labeling techniques for DNA. He then joined the European Molecular Biology Laboratory (EMBL) in Heidelberg (Germany) as a postdoctoral researcher under the supervision of Prof. Carsten Schultz and Prof. Matthias Hentze, focusing on genetically encoded crosslinkers to study RNA-protein interactions.
His current research program centers on the design, synthesis, and application of novel fluorescent probes for live-cell microscopy, with a particular focus on investigating the functions of RNAs and RNA-containing biomolecular condensates. In collaboration with Dr. Julie Karpenko, he also develops bacteria-targeting fluorescent probes for studying bacterial physiology and advancing laboratory diagnostics of infectious diseases.
