Dr. Nadine Wiesmann studied at the Johannes-Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany, and received her bachelor’s degree in Molecular Biology in 2015. She continued with master’s studies in Biomedicine and Applied Bioinformatics. She completed her PhD under the mentorship of Prof. Jürgen Brieger in 2019. Currently, she is a postdoctoral junior researcher at the Department of Otorhinolaryngology, Head and Neck Surgery and the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery, - Plastic Surgery. Her research is focused on material–cell interactions and resistance mechanisms of tumor cells, and how they could be overcome. The chorioallantoic membrane assay (CAM assay) has grabbed her fascination within the last years, as it has great potential to close the gap between in vitro experiments and classical rodent in vivo models.
