Dr. Clara Novo is a Research Fellow at the IRDB, Department of Metabolism, Digestion and Reproduction, where she uses the transition state of embryonic stem cells pluripotency to understand the contributions of heterochromatin to genome architecture and stability.
Clara obtained her PhD in Genetics at the University of Leicester (UK). As a postdoctoral fellow, she developed her expertise in the epigenetic regulation of heterochromatin. First, she studied the epigenetic regulation of telomeres at the Institute Curie (Paris, France) and at the Institute GIGA (Liege, Belgium). At the Babraham Institute (Cambridge, UK), Clara's research focused on the molecular regulation of pericentromeres in embryonic pluripotent stem cells.
