Sufang Liu is an Assistant Research Scientist in the Department of Biomedical Sciences at Texas A&M University College of Dentistry. Dr. Liu obtained her MD degree in 2000 and PhD degree in 2014. She has been working on several research projects including dopaminergic descending pain modulation of orofacial pain. Her work has been published in prestigious neuroscience journals, including the Journal of Neuroscience and PAIN. Currently Dr. Liu is conducting a new research project using state-of-the-art techniques (optogenetics and miniscope-based in vivo calcium imaging) to develop a novel neuromodulation approach to treat orofacial pain.
