Dr. Congyue Peng is a postdoctoral research associate at the Department of Genetics and Biochemistry and the Eukaryotic Pathogens Innovation Center at Clemson University. Her PhD research at Clemson University with Dr. William Marcotte focused on recombinant spider silk-like protein design, purification, and biomaterial assembly. Her postdoctoral research projects with Dr. Lukasz Kozubowski focus on Cryptococcus neoformans, an invasive pathogenic fungus that poses threats to immunocompromised patients. Dr. Peng studies the molecular and biochemical basis of the crosstalk between cells and their environmental niche, macromolecular complex assembly, protein folding, and light controllable protein conformation manipulation.
