Dr. Sharif Moradi received his B.Sc. in Plant Biology from Khwarizmi University of Tehran in 2008 and his M.Sc. in Cell and Molecular Biology from the University of Tehran in 2010. He earned his PhD in developmental biology from Royan Institute in 2017, where he studied microRNA regulation in embryonic (ES) and induced pluripotent stem (iPS) cells. He has been a member of the Royan Institute since 2010 and was appointed assistant professor in 2018, leading a research group focused on non-coding RNAs, including microRNAs and siRNAs, in pluripotent stem cells and cancer. His lab investigates the molecular mechanisms of stem cell immortality and tumorigenicity, with a focus on developing oligonucleotide-based therapeutics and biosensors for early cancer detection. He serves as an academic editor for PLOS ONE and an editorial board member for the World Journal of Stem Cells and has chaired several international conferences in stem cell biology and cancer research. He is also the founder and CEO of miRas Biotech, a company dedicated to oligonucleotide-based diagnostics and therapeutics.
