María Laura Chiapparrone, DVM, PhD, is an associate professor at the Facultad de Ciencias Veterinarias, Universidad Nacional del Centro de la Provincia de Buenos Aires (UNCPBA), Argentina, and a researcher at CIVETAN (UNCPBA–CICPBA–CONICET). Her research focuses on veterinary infectious diseases, particularly bacterial pathogens associated with bovine reproductive diseases. Her research at the Laboratorio de Microbiología Clínica y Experimental combines bacteriological diagnostics, phenotypic and molecular characterization of bacterial pathogens, antimicrobial susceptibility and resistance studies, and in vitro models to investigate bacterial pathogenicity and virulence. Her current research contributes to advancing diagnostic methodologies and the characterization of bacterial pathogens of veterinary importance, with a particular emphasis on Campylobacter fetus.
