Rachel Moran is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Ecology and Evolution at the University of Chicago. Her lab studies the genomic, neural, and molecular basis of complex trait evolution, speciation, and behavioral isolation, using North American darters (Percidae: Etheostominae) as a model system. Her research combines whole-genome sequencing, behavioral assays, and neural and molecular approaches to identify the genes and neural circuits underlying social behaviors like mate choice and parental care.
