Dr. Gunjan Saini is a postdoctoral associate in the Department of Cell Biology, Neurobiology, and Anatomy at the Medical College of Wisconsin. She received her PhD in biochemistry, where her research focused on the structural and functional characterization of metal-binding proteins using X-ray crystallography, complemented by biochemical and biophysical approaches. Her current research focuses on understanding the structure and signaling mechanisms of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), integrating molecular biology, protein expression and purification, and cryo-electron microscopy to investigate receptor activation and ligand recognition. Her research interests center on structural biology, receptor pharmacology, and the application of integrative biochemical and biophysical techniques to advance the understanding of protein structure–function relationships and support the development of structure-guided therapeutics.
