Joseph A. Bauer, PhD, is the founder and executive director of Nitric Oxide Services, LLC, and the founder and treasurer of the Bauer Research Foundation. He has more than three decades of experience in nitric oxide biology, redox chemistry, cancer therapeutics, and translational research. His work has included the development of nitric oxide–releasing compounds, analytical methods for quantifying nitrate and nitrite in biological fluids, preclinical pharmacokinetic and biodistribution studies, and tumor-targeted nitric oxide therapeutics. His recent publications include a vanadium(III)-based chemiluminescence protocol for nitric oxide metabolite quantification and release kinetics, as well as studies of nitrosylcobalamin delivery and pharmacokinetics in glioblastoma. His research interests center on establishing rigorous and reproducible methods that connect nitric oxide chemistry and biomarker measurement with therapeutic development, pharmacology, and clinical translation.
