Arden Baylink, PhD, is an assistant professor in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Washington State University, where he leads a research program focused on the molecular mechanisms underlying bacterial environmental sensing, motility, and chemotaxis. His research combines structural biology, biochemistry, microbiology, quantitative imaging, and computational approaches to investigate how bacterial chemoreceptors detect environmental signals and regulate swimming behavior. His research interests include chemoreceptor structure and function, chemoeffector-chemoreceptor relationships, chemotactic signaling, bacterial motility, and quantitative approaches for studying bacterial behavior.
