Film Clip Elicitation

Film clip elicitation is a research method that uses selected video segments to provoke measurable emotional, cognitive, or behavioral responses in participants. By presenting standardized visual and auditory stimuli under controlled conditions, researchers can examine how people perceive situations, experience affect, and respond through self-report or observed behavior. In behavioral science, the method supports studies of emotion, attention, social interaction, and decision-making while improving consistency across experimental sessions. Researchers can compare responses to clips that differ in content, context, or intensity, linking observed behavior with psychological processes and helping evaluate theories of human response.

Sparks, Department of Materials Science and Engineering, The University of Utah, Salt Lake City, UT Electroplating is a process that uses electric current to reduce dissolved metal cations so that they form a thin coating on an electrode. Other thin film deposition techniques include chemical vapor deposition (CVD), spin coating, dip coating, and sputter deposition among others. CVD uses a gas-phase precursor of the element to be...

An Assay to Detect Oxidative Burst in Arabidopsis Leaf Discs upon Immune Elicitation

2025

This video demonstrates an assay to measure oxidative burst in Arabidopsis leaves upon immune elicitation. Leaf discs, cut from plant leaves, are incubated with bacterial peptides functioning as microbe-associated molecular patterns or MAMPs. Upon detection of the MAMPs, plant cells induce the production of extracellular ROS, which is detected using a chemiluminescence assay.
