Electrocardiogram Simulation

Electrocardiogram simulation is the computational or physical reproduction of cardiac electrical activity to generate realistic electrocardiogram signals for analysis, training, and device development. It models how electrical depolarization and repolarization propagate through the heart and how electrode placement, tissue properties, and measurement conditions shape voltage-time waveforms. In bioengineering, simulations support the design and validation of monitoring systems, wearable sensors, and diagnostic algorithms while reducing reliance on extensive clinical data. They also provide controlled scenarios for studying arrhythmias, testing signal-processing methods, and teaching electrocardiographic interpretation, making them valuable tools for research, education, and medical technology development.

An electrocardiogram (ECG or EKG) is a critical diagnostic tool that records the electrical signals produced by the heart during each heartbeat. This recording is achieved through electrodes placed strategically on the arms, legs, and chest. The electrocardiograph amplifies these signals and produces 12 distinct tracings, offering a comprehensive understanding of the heart's electrical activity. Three major waveforms are present in a typical ECG recording: the P wave, the QRS complex, and the T...

Introduction An electrocardiogram (ECG) is a diagnostic tool for identifying cardiac conditions such as arrhythmias, conduction abnormalities, and myocardial ischemia. Definition An electrocardiogram (ECG) visualizes the heart's electrical activity by tracing the electrical movement associated with each heartbeat on a graph or monitor. As the heart beats, an electrical wave passes through it, correlating with the cardiac cycle events. Parts of an ECG An ECG utilizes electrodes on the skin to...

An efficient way to gain insight into how humans navigate themselves in three dimensions is described. The method takes advantage of a motion simulator capable of moving observers in ways unattainable by traditional simulators. Results confirm that movement in the horizontal plane is underestimated, while vertical movement is overestimated.

The siphon breaking phenomenon was investigated experimentally and a theoretical model was proposed. A simulation program based on the theoretical model was developed and the results of the simulation program were compared with experimental results. It was concluded that the results of the simulation program matched the experimental results well.
