Protein Aid Biosensor

Protein Aid Biosensor is a bioengineering tool that uses a protein component to recognize a target molecule and convert that interaction into a measurable signal. When the analyte binds its recognition element, the resulting structural or chemical change is coupled to signal generation, allowing detection through an observable output such as fluorescence, color, or an electrical response. This design links molecular specificity with practical measurement and can support biomarker analysis, environmental monitoring, diagnostics, and research on cellular processes. Protein Aid Biosensors therefore provide a adaptable framework for translating molecular interactions into quantitative information.

β-Lactamase-Based Conductimetric Biosensor Assay for Protein-Protein Interactions

2025

This video demonstrates a conductimetric biosensor assay to study the interaction of an antibody with a target antigen immobilized on a transducer chip. The biosensor is engineered to have a bifunctional chimeric protein — a β-lactamase enzyme with a functional catalytic site fused to a nanobody for binding to the immobilized target antigen. Upon binding, the catalytic hydrolysis of an antibiotic substrate by the β-lactamase enzyme generates an electrical signal — confirming the...

Graphene Biosensor-Based Field-Effect Biosensing to Detect Protein-Protein Interactions

2025

In this video, we describe the field-effect biosensing (FEB) technology to detect and quantify protein-protein interactions. The target proteins immobilized on the graphene biosensor interact with analyte proteins in solution, resulting in electrical current alterations in the FEB system. This change in the electrical response indicates the binding affinity between the proteins.

Optical biosensor techniques can detect changes in mass near the plasma membrane in living cells and allow one to follow cellular responses in both individual cells and populations of cells. This protocol will describe detection of the modulation of potassium channels by G-protein coupled receptors in intact cells using this approach.

"E-DNA" sensors, reagentless, electrochemical biosensors that perform well even when challenged directly in blood and other complex matrices, have been adapted to the detection of a wide range of nucleic acid, protein and small molecule analytes. Here we present a general procedure for the fabrication and use of such sensors.

Quartz-Crystal Microbalance Biosensor-Based Biopanning to Study Protein-Drug Interactions

2025

This video demonstrates a method to study protein-drug interactions using QCM biosensor-based biopanning of the T7 phage-displayed peptide library. The biopanning of phages displaying a specific peptide on the QCM biosensor allows specific isolation of high-affinity peptides, followed by amino acid sequencing, which helps to identify specific interaction sites on the target protein.
