E Coli Based Tx Tl

E. coli-based transcription and translation is a biological and experimental system that uses Escherichia coli cells or cellular extracts to produce RNA and proteins from genetic information. In this system, DNA is transcribed into messenger RNA by RNA polymerase, and ribosomes then translate the RNA sequence into a specific polypeptide using transfer RNAs and amino acids. Researchers use E. coli-based systems to study gene expression, characterize regulatory elements, produce recombinant proteins, and develop cell-free assays. Their speed, well-defined molecular machinery, and experimental flexibility make them valuable for teaching core biology and advancing synthetic biology and biotechnology.
