Plasma Cleaner

A plasma cleaner is a laboratory instrument that uses ionized gas to remove organic contaminants and modify solid surfaces, supporting reliable work in biology and materials research. Under reduced pressure, an electrical field energizes a process gas such as oxygen, producing reactive ions, radicals, and ultraviolet radiation that oxidize residues and convert them into volatile products removed by the vacuum system. Plasma treatment can also increase surface wettability, improving the attachment of aqueous solutions, biomolecules, or cells. Researchers use plasma cleaners to prepare microscopy substrates, microfluidic devices, culture materials, and biomaterials, helping improve reproducibility in surface-based biological experiments.
