Teflon Divider

A Teflon divider is a polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) barrier used to partition chambers or regions within a biological experiment, helping researchers control how samples, solutions, or tissues interact. Its chemically resistant, low-adhesion surface separates experimental conditions while allowing contact, exchange, or transport to occur only at defined openings or interfaces. This controlled arrangement supports studies of diffusion, membrane transport, cell interactions, and compartment-specific responses, while reducing unwanted adsorption and cross-contamination. Teflon dividers are therefore useful in experimental systems that require precise spatial organization, reproducible conditions, and clear comparison between biological environments.

Voltage Dividers

2024

In electrical circuits, resistors can be connected in series, sequentially linked one after the other. In a series configuration, the same current flows through each resistor. Ohm's law is a fundamental principle to understand the behavior of resistors in series. It expresses the voltage across these resistors in terms of the current and resistance. Kirchhoff's voltage law implies that the sum of the voltages across the resistors in series equals the source voltage. This means that the current...

In parallel electrical connections, resistors are linked between the same pair of nodes, creating an equal voltage across each resistor. Kirchhoff's current law is applied to these connections, establishing that the sum of currents through these resistors equals the source current. Utilizing Ohm's law, the source current is determined as the product of the source voltage and the sum of the reciprocals of individual resistances. This relationship simplifies the process of finding the current...

Dividing Net Income or Net Loss Among Partners

2026

In a partnership, the distribution of net income or loss is primarily governed by the partnership agreement. In the absence of such an agreement, the default legal standard requires that all profits and losses be divided equally among the partners, regardless of their respective inputs.Profit Allocation MethodsSeveral methods exist to allocate partnership profits and losses. One straightforward approach is using a fixed ratio, such as a 60:40 split, as stipulated in a partnership agreement.

2014

We present a simple and efficient protocol for the generation of human macrophages. Buffy coats are processed by double density gradient centrifugation and isolated monocytes are then differentiated to macrophages in Teflon-coated cell culture bags. This maximizes macrophage yields and facilitates cell harvesting for subsequent experiments.

Central and Divided Visual Field Presentation of Emotional Images to Measure Hemispheric Differences in Motivated Attention

2017

This study compared central versus divided visual field presentations of emotional images to assess differences in motivated attention between the two hemispheres. The late positive potential (LPP) was recorded using electroencephalography (EEG) and event-related potentials (ERPs) methodologies to assess motivated attention.
