Transparency Accountability

Transparency and accountability are principles that make clinical research and care understandable, traceable, and answerable to patients, professionals, institutions, and the public. Transparency works by openly documenting study methods, data sources, decisions, uncertainties, and potential conflicts of interest, while accountability assigns responsibility and enables review, correction, or sanction when standards are not met. Together, they support ethical oversight, informed consent, reliable reporting, reproducible evidence, and safer clinical decisions; applied across trials, medical records, and health systems, they can strengthen public trust and help identify bias, errors, and gaps in care.
