Financial Accounting

Financial accounting is the systematic process of recording, classifying, and reporting an organization’s financial transactions, providing standardized information for decision-making and accountability. It applies principles such as double-entry bookkeeping, in which each transaction affects at least two accounts, and summarizes results through statements including the balance sheet, income statement, and cash flow statement. In finance, these reports help investors, lenders, managers, regulators, and other stakeholders evaluate profitability, liquidity, financial position, and operating performance. Consistent financial accounting supports compliance, comparability across organizations, budgeting, and informed allocation of capital.
