Magnetic Device Cartridge

A Magnetic Device Cartridge is a replaceable medical-device component that incorporates magnetic materials or elements to guide, position, separate, or control materials within a cartridge-based system. Its operation relies on magnetic attraction, repulsion, or field gradients, which can move magnetically responsive particles or actuate internal components without direct mechanical contact. In medicine, this principle can support diagnostic testing, sample preparation, fluid handling, and controlled delivery when cartridges need compact, enclosed operation. Standardized cartridges may improve workflow consistency, reduce contamination risk, and simplify device maintenance. Understanding their magnetic behavior, material compatibility, and operating conditions is important for reliable clinical and laboratory performance.

A Microfluidic Cartridge-Based Detection System for Allergen-Specific Immunoglobulin E

2025

This video demonstrates a protocol for detecting serum-specific immunoglobulin E using a microfluidic cartridge-based chemiluminescence system. Serum IgEs interact with distinct allergens immobilized in the reaction zone of the cartridge, which are subsequently detected with peroxidase-conjugated anti-IgE antibodies and a chemiluminescent substrate, allowing simultaneous detection of multiple allergen-specific IgEs.

A Magnetic Nanoparticle-Based Immunoassay Using a Microfluidic Device

2025

This video demonstrates a microfluidic system for a magnetic nanoparticle-based immunoassay. The detection system utilizes a microfluidic device incorporating a magnetic trap within its channels. Pre-formed immunocomplexes, comprised of antigen-coated magnetic nanoparticles bound to primary and peroxidase-conjugated secondary antibodies, are introduced into the channels. The immunocomplexes become captured in the porous magnetic trap upon applying an external magnetic field. Using a fluorogenic...
