Neck Shoulder Pain

Neck shoulder pain is discomfort affecting the cervical region and shoulder area, often limiting movement, work, sleep, and daily activities. It can arise when muscle tension, joint irritation, poor posture, injury, or pressure on nearby nerves alters normal movement and sensitizes pain pathways. Medical evaluation uses symptom history, physical examination, and, when indicated, imaging or neurological assessment to identify contributing conditions and guide care. Understanding these mechanisms supports appropriate management, including activity modification, physical therapy, medication, or treatment of an underlying disorder, while helping clinicians recognize symptoms that may require urgent attention.

The anterior part of each vertebra is made up of the thick bony body, which is linked to the body above and below by intervertebral discs. These discs help provide stability and shock absorption to the...

In anterior shoulder dislocation, the humeral head is displaced out of the glenohumeral joint in front of the scapular glenoid, resulting in a loss of the articulation between the arm and the rest of the shoulder. This can be caused by a fall onto an abducted, extended, and externally...
