Subacromial Debridement

Subacromial Debridement is an arthroscopic surgical technique that removes inflamed bursal tissue, loose debris, and damaged soft tissue from the subacromial space to reduce pain and improve shoulder function. During the procedure, a camera and instruments enter through small portals; irrigation expands the working space, while targeted tissue excision relieves mechanical irritation around the rotator cuff and may improve visualization of associated lesions. It is used in selected cases of subacromial impingement, bursitis, or degenerative tendon changes, although treatment decisions depend on the underlying pathology and clinical response. By removing symptomatic tissue, the technique supports diagnosis, surgical management, and rehabilitation planning in orthopedic medicine.
