Treatment Planning System

A treatment planning system is specialized clinical software that helps healthcare professionals design, evaluate, and document patient-specific therapies, particularly radiation treatment. It integrates diagnostic images, anatomical contours, treatment goals, and equipment parameters, then uses mathematical models to predict how treatment will be delivered and distributed within the body. Clinicians can adjust beam arrangements, doses, fields, or other treatment settings while reviewing target coverage and exposure to nearby healthy tissue. These systems support safer, more precise treatment decisions, improve communication among care teams, and provide a reproducible plan for treatment delivery and quality assurance.
