Determining the Plane of Cell Division

Hücre bölünme düzlemini doğru bir şekilde belirleyen bölünen bir hücre, kromozomların başarılı bir şekilde ayrılması ve sitoplazmik içeriğin yavru hücrelerine dağıtılması için gereklidir.

Astral stimülasyon modelinde, astral mikrotübüllerin radyal dizileri ekvator korteksi ile etkileşime girer ve bölünme karıklarının oluşumunu indükler.
Polar gevşeme modelinde, astral mikrotübüller hücre kutuplarına inhibitör sinyaller gönderir ve böylece her iki kutupta bölünme karıklarının oluşumunu baskılar. Bu, hücre ekvatorunda kortikal kasılmaya yol açar.
