Ansys Fluent

Ansys Fluent is computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software used to model how fluids flow, transfer heat, and interact with solid surfaces, helping engineers predict system performance before physical prototyping. It numerically solves conservation equations for mass, momentum, and energy across a discretized computational mesh, using user-defined materials, boundary conditions, and models for turbulence, multiphase flow, and heat transfer. Engineers apply Fluent to study aerodynamics, cooling systems, combustion, pumps, and process equipment. The simulations can reveal pressure losses, temperature distributions, flow patterns, and other performance measures, supporting design optimization, troubleshooting, and more efficient engineering development.

2013

We explore the use of repetitive transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) to improve language abilities in patients with chronic stroke and non-fluent aphasia. After identifying a site in the right frontal gyrus for each patient that responds optimally to stimulation, we target this site during ten days of rTMS treatment.

2023

Source: Joseph C. Muskat, Vitaliy L. Rayz, and Craig J. Goergen, Weldon School of Biomedical Engineering, Purdue University, West Lafayette, Indiana The objective of this video is to describe recent advancements of computational fluid dynamic (CFD) simulations based on patient- or animal-specific vasculature. Here, subject-based vessel segmentations were created, and, using a combination of open-source and commercial tools, a high-resolution numerical solution was determined within a flow model.
