Infrared Thermal Camera

An infrared thermal camera is an imaging device that detects infrared radiation emitted by objects and converts it into a visual map of surface temperature, making heat patterns invisible to the human eye measurable. Its detector senses radiation in specific infrared wavelengths, while calibration and emissivity settings help translate signal intensity into temperature estimates under defined conditions. In physics, thermal cameras support studies of heat transfer, radiation, energy distribution, and temperature gradients without physical contact. They are used to identify insulation failures, monitor experiments and equipment, assess thermal behavior in materials, and visualize transient processes such as heating, cooling, and phase changes.
