Q1: What materials do you need to set up a quadrat and transect sampling study?
You need six 20-foot ropes with knots tied at the beginning, end, and every 5 feet, plus hula hoops to serve as sampling quadrats. Plant identification guides should be available for each student group. Select three outdoor areas with at least four plant species each, such as a grassy area without shade, a shaded grassy area, and a weedy field.
