Q1: What is the pulmonary circulation and what does it transport?
The pulmonary circulation is a vital system that bridges the respiratory and cardiovascular systems. It transports deoxygenated blood from the right ventricle to the lungs and returns oxygen-rich blood to the left atrium. This circuit enables gas exchange between blood and air in the lungs, preparing oxygenated blood for distribution throughout the body.
