Este artigo primeiro descreve um procedimento para isolar células endoteliais humanas a partir de veias umbilicais e, em seguida, mostra como usar estas células para examinar transmigração de neutrófilos em condições de escoamento. Ao utilizar uma câmara de fluxo de baixo volume feita a partir de um polímero com as características ópticas do vidro, ao vivo de células imagem fluorescente de populações de células raras é também possível.
