It travels through coils inside the fridge, called evaporator coils.
As it flows through them, it absorbs heat from the food and turns into a gas.
A compressor then uses electrical energy to squeeze the gas, increasing its pressure and making it very hot.
The hot gas moves through condenser coils at the back of the refrigerator, where it gives off heat to the surrounding air, cools, and turns back into a liquid.
