La capacité du bactériophage à déplacer l’ADN entre les cellules bactériennes en fait des outils efficaces pour la manipulation génétique de leurs hôtes bactériens. Présenté ici est une méthodologie pour induire, récupérer et utiliser φBB-1, un bactériophage de Borrelia burgdorferi, pour transduire l’ADN hétérologue entre différentes souches du spirochète de la maladie de Lyme.
