Acupoint Catgut Embedding for Treatment of Chronic Pelvic Pain Due to the Sequelae of Pelvic Inflammatory Disease

Our research focuses on developing effective treatments for chronic pelvic pain due to the sickening of pelvic inflammatory disease. We will focus on the efficacy of external Chinese medicine for the relief of chronic pelvic pain in women and the developments of treatments protocols. To begin, prepare sterile gloves, disposable catgut embedding needles and disposable thread embedding kit. Instruct the patient to lie on their back, relax and fully expose the abdomen and lower limbs.

Then examine the skin condition at the target acupoint location and proceed if there are no abnormalities. Ensure the physician performs routine hand disinfection, sterilizes target acupuncture points and wears sterile gloves. Then verify that the core of the disposable thread embedding needle and the needle tube align smoothly.

Use tweezers in the right hand to place the catgut into the needle tube.
